Arkham Horror: The Card Game

Arkham Horror: The Card Game by Fantasy Flight Games (AHC60)

The boundaries between worlds have drawn perilously thin…

Arkham Horror: The Card Game is a cooperative Living Card Game® set amid a backdrop of Lovecraftian horror. As the Ancient Ones seek entry to our world, one to four investigators work to unravel arcane mysteries and conspiracies.

Their efforts determine not only the course of your game, but carry forward throughout whole campaigns, challenging them to overcome their personal demons even as Arkham Horror: The Card Game blurs the distinction between the card game and roleplaying experiences.

Final Hour

You arrived too late to stop the loathsome rite, and a monstrous, transdimensional Ancient One tears through reality. An iridescent rift slashes across the darkened skies, heralding the nightmarish creatures that pour into the hallowed buildings of Miskatonic University. As howls and screams cut through the night, there is only one path left for your fearless investigators—hold back the horde long enough to somehow reverse the summoning.

Arkham Horror: Final Hour is a fully cooperative, fast-paced board game for one to four players. An endless tide of monsters sweeps across the Miskatonic University campus, and you must hold them back, all while searching desperately for the ritual components you need to put an end to the insanity. Playable in under 60 minutes, your fate depends on the cooperation between you and your fellow investigators. The odds against you are astronomical, but if you don’t succeed, this will indeed be the final hour for Arkham… and the world.

Unfathomable

Unfathomable by Fantasy Flight Games (UNF01)

The year is 1913. The steamship SS Atlantica is two days out from port on its voyage across the Atlantic Ocean. Its unsuspecting passengers fully anticipated a calm journey to Boston, Massachusetts, with nothing out of the ordinary to look forward to. However, strange nightmares plague the minds of the people aboard the ship every night; rumors circulate of dark shapes following closely behind the ship just beneath the waves; and tensions rise when a body is discovered in the ship’s chapel, signs of a strange ritual littered around the corpse. This voyage began like any other, but now it seems that the Atlantica may never reach its destination.

Immerse yourself among the passengers and crew of the SS Atlantica in this game of hidden loyalties, intrigue, and paranoia for three to six players. Some players are humans who are fighting for the survival of the ship, while others are traitors sent aboard the ship by mysterious beings to ensure that it never reaches port! Because player loyalties are hidden, determining who is friend and who is foe is critical to winning a thrilling game of Unfathomable.

Cars: The Triangle Car Park is at the end of Clifton Road. In addition, there are 30-minute parking bays just up the road near Newtown Stores convenience shop, as well as 2-hour bays in each of the side roads off of Clifton Road (Clifton Street, Chute Street, Sandford Walk, etc). If you have an electric vehicle, there are charging points in Belmont Road (along the front of Belmont Park), on the left as you exit Clifton Road.

Bus: The nearest bus stop is Lower Summerlands at the junction of Clifton Road and Heavitree Road. The new Exeter Bus Station is only a few yards further away, by St. Sidwell’s Point Leisure Centre and the VUE Cinema (walk down past the VUE cinema, across Western Way, between Jury’s Inn and Belmont Chapel to the Triangle Car Park and then turn left past The Clifton Inn).

FOOD & DRINK

Clifton Road Games do not provide or sell food and/or drinks on the premises, but customers are welcome to bring their own.

Newtown Stores is just up the road (on your left as you exit the shop), The Clifton Inn has an in-house bakery, as well as their regular pub menu, and is also just up the road (on the right as you exit). Exe Coffee Roasters are across the Triangle Car Park (opposite the Pyramids Leisure Centre).

We generally advise that gamers take specific breaks for food and drinks, rather than snacking throughout. It’s safer for the games components.

Customer toilets are available. Note that these are wheelchair accessible but not fully equipped as disabled facilities (ie. they do have extra space for a wheelchair and low hand basins; they don’t have hand rails or emergency assistance alarms).
